Our Classical Ballet classes consist of techniques from the classic styles of Cecchetti, Vaganova, Bournonville, and the Royal Academy of Dance. Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles and teaches control, balance, use of line, and how to perform movements with grace and ease. DDDAA’s classical ballet classes start with a PreBallet for ages 3-4; Ballet 1 for ages 5-8; Ballet Level 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 by permission. For more detailed information on our ballet program click here to visit our Ballet page.

Jazz dance is a truly American style of dance that showcases a dancer's individual style and originality. Every jazz dancer interprets and executes moves and steps in their own way. Jazz dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns. To excel in jazz, it is recommended that dancers also obtain a strong background in ballet as jazz dance requires a strong amount of grace and balance. Creative Movement is an introductory dance class for the very youngest dancers - ages 18 mos. to 3 years. It consists of exploring a child’s gross motor movement through the use of props, fun music and a small class environment. Students also learn how to follow a teacher, socialize with peers of their own age, and move their bodies in new and fun ways. For more information, click here to visit our Little Ones page.

Character dance is also known as musical theater dance and is most likely found when students perform in plays, musicals and other such performance venues. Dream Dancers starts teaching character dance to our performance teams for the intrinsic value that it has on increasing performance quality. Students learn to “act out” what the song is trying to convey through facial and bodily expression. Dream Dancers also offers private lessons in character dance to those preparing for an audition for a play or musical.

Ballroom or social dance has made a huge comeback in the last 5 years. Dream Dancers offers ballroom group lessons to teens (age 11+) and adults. The style of dance is the American Style in both the smooth and rhythm styles in the bronze level. This is one of the official versions of dance studied by ballroom dancers world-wide. We also offer private lessons and wedding packages for those seeking a unique “first dance” or wanting personalized instruction for a special event. Please click here to visit our Ballroom page for more information.

- How Much Are Classes?
 |
 |
|
At Dream Dancers we believe that your dancer will have an overall better experience and learn much more with consistent class attendance; therefore we divide our year into 2 main semesters and a summer session. Our Fall semester runs September - December and Spring runs from January - mid-June.
When you register, you are registering for the most current semester and are expected to continue attending classes until its completion. Dream Dancers tuition is a semester fee that is broken up into monthly installment payments to make budgeting easier. This makes the monthly payment the same amount every month regardless of missed classes or studio holidays. There are no contracts to sign, but each month in which you attend any classes full payment is due for that month.
A registration fee and your first month’s tuition is due when you initially register to secure placement in any certain class. Registration fees are due only when you first register and then yearly in September after that. Because we keep our class sizes small, many of our classes accumulate waiting lists as the semester gets into full swing. Below you will find the Registration and tuition rates for the 2011 - 2012 school year. There are no registration fees due in the summer session months. Returning students will receive a limited-time reduced registration fee offer in June & August only.

Ours is a family tuition rate. If 2 or more immediate family members take classes at Dream Dancers the following rates will apply. Family rates do not apply to cousins or other indirect family members.
This year, in an effort to simplify things for our dance families, we are offering a slightly reduced rate for those families that sign up for our Visa/MC auto debit program. You can choose either the 2nd or 16th of the month as your billing date and your card information is encryted on our studio computer for safety.

“It all sounds great, but how do I know what classes to put my child in?”
Perfect question! First consider their age and what dance styles are available for their age range and from there consider where their interests lie. For help in determining where to place your child (or yourself) call 719-821-9214 and ask for the director, Ms. Laurel. She will be able to help you figure out what class is in you and your child’s best interest. We also encourage you to come and observe a class and/or take a trial class to be absolutely sure. Call the studio to determine when would be the best time to come and observe; trial classes are $9 and you can take up to 2. When you do register, the amount paid in trial class fees is automatically deducted from that month’s remaining tuition balance.

“Are you the dance studio for my family? I’ve had other “bad” experiences or I just need more information.”
We totally understand your concerns and honestly, the more concern you have, the better chance you have of finding the perfect dance studio for your family. We recommend downloading our free report about how to pick the right dance program by clicking here. Also, take the time to visit all the dance studios that you are considering, observe classes, talk to the teachers and/or parents and discuss the options within your family. The cheapest tuition and most convenient class isn’t always the best bet for your child. Take your time and don’t be pressured into anything. If we, at Dream Dancers, can explain anything more about our programs and philosophies please call us at 719-821-9214. We wish you the best in your hunt for the right dance program!

- What Makes Dream Dancers Different?
 |
 |
|
At Dream Dancers you will be pleasantly surprised by our commitment to age-appropriate music, movements and costuming. Ms. Laurel, our Artistic Director believes that “Little girls should stay little for as long as possible.” This commitment to modesty and high standards also extends to every age of student that we teach.
We also pride ourselves on our unique and exceptional teaching environment. With a focus on the individual needs of each student, Dream Dancers provides a nurturing classroom where each dancer can explore their abilities and strive to improve at their own pace amongst other supportive dancers. If you have ever experienced the unfortunate “clique” atmosphere that can exist among students, you will appreciate our constant diligence to avoid such social situations.
At Dream Dancers we are also known for the technical acuity of our students starting at a young age. We believe that children can and will learn to the level of the expectations that are set for them. So, we set our expectations high and then give them a safe place to land and continue learning.
We encourage you to come and view or take a trial class to experience the Dream Dancers difference for yourself and your child. We look forward to dancing with you!
